CSYSA Primary League Sunday 4th March – Postponed to a later date (TBA)

Tayforth Joint Training

Tayforth, Edinburgh’s league shinty club have been training alongside us on Saturday mornings. With the start of the LEague season on 4th March, the men’s team will be playing league games on Saturdays, so will be unable to attend.

Tayforth plan to support a new mid-week youth session through joint training. Look out for further news soon.

Training Sessions 2018

All training sessions have now resumed. Regular training times are as follows:

Saturday open sessions on the Meadows at 10.30/11.00 am

10.30 – 11.30   Development (P1-3, and newer players)
11.00 – 12.30   Intermediate/advanced (up to high school)

Friday sessions in Pilrig Park/Taobh na Pàirce Primary, 12.30-1.30 pm, P1-P7

Wednesday Active Schools sessions, on-campus at James Gillespie’s High School for S1-S6, from 3.40 – 5pm.

Wednesday Active Schools sessions, on-campus at James Gillespie’s High School for p5-7 in cluster schools, from 5 – 6pm.

JGPS training Mondays 8 – 8.40 am – meet on the Links from 7.45 am. P3-7. (Active schools only)

Sciennes Primary training Tuesdays 8 – 8.40 am – meet on the Meadows from 7.45 am. P3-7 (Active schools only)

Central Scotland fixtures have been set for Primary and High School ages for the rest of the year. at both primary and secondary level. The next competitions will take place as follows.


Outdoor Round 3:  Sun 4th March, hosted by the Strathkelvin in Milngavie.
This fixture has been postponed due to the change of the National Indoor to 3rd March. It will be rescheduled. Delatils to be announced.

Outdoor Round 4:  Sun 25th March, hosted by M&B in Milngavie

Outdoor Round 5:  Sun 22nd April, hosted by Aberdour at Silversands


High School

Additional round of the Under-15 winter league Sun 18th March, Uddingston. Time and further details to be confirmed.

Proposed date for Camanachd Association under-14 development league Round 1 is Sun 29th April, details will be confirmed once entries are known.

An under-13 development league will commence on Tue 8th May, 6.30pm. This round will be in Glasgow.


Clothing and Equipment

Club strips are available in all sizes, and are available at our offer price for first-time buyers. Speak to Jamie at Saturday training or contact us for details of how to order, sizes, etc.

Club hoodies, beanie hats, club water bottles, all-weather balls, and other items are now available to purchase at great prices. Jamie has samples and can take orders. We now also have a stock of children’s and adult camans. Shin-guards available too.


New Year Shinty

We had a great New Year’s community shinty festival on the Meadows on 2nd January with over 50 people coming along and taking part despite the poor forecast.
