Primary competitions

Outdoor

Primary outdoor competitions, including the CSYSA primary league, take place roughly once a month from early March till October, usually on a Sunday. Catergories are Development (P3 and under), P5 and under, and P7 and under.

 

Indoor

Primary winter season indoor competitions, including the CSYSA primary league which runs from late October to January, for the same categories as the outdoor season.

There is a Indoor Qualifying competition around the end of January for the National Indoor Finals in Fort William at the end of February. This is only for P5 and under, and P7 and under teams.

High school competitions

Summer Season

There is a programme of Camanachd Association under-14 and under-17 league and cup fixtures from spring to autumn.

Winter Season

In 2023, the Camanachd Association began a monthly series of Winter under-14 and under-17 shinty festivals in the Glasgow area, involving teams from the Central Belt and Argyll, with all players guaranteed plenty of playing time.
